Pre Norman Church

The Chequers

Feltwell

A fairly large village, blighted by the usual planners stupidity - a one way traffic system in a quiet village. Feltwell has several nice shops and a couple of excellent pubs. "The Lodge" in the High Street has a very large restaurant specialising in Mexican food and is open all day seven days a week. "The Chequers", run by Fred and Sally Perry, is on Hill Street and has a good choice of beers and serves excellent food. The village boasts two churches, one in the centre, St. Mary's and a wonderful old pre Norman redundant church with a ruined tower. The history of this and the rest of the village can be seen on Feltwell's excellent website.
